This storm often manifests itself in the mind; or in the challenge of the asana practice, we experience it in the panic rhythm of our breath. We attempt to keep this storm at bay by constantly engaging in exercise, tasks, errands, conversation, thinking, eating, etc… Anything to keep us moving because the moment we stop, we fear the storm will overwhelm us.

If our life is chaotic and we feel overwhelmed, to believe this storm is happening to us rather than through us is the illusion that keeps us suffering. What we know in yoga is that relief is close at hand… within the quiet of the breath, the stillness of the mind and the harmonious health of our body.  This is the calling that leads us to our mats and the journey we continue as we walk away from them.
